Teacher Lin is excited to host Nooks in her garden, located in the Central Sunset District of San Francisco. It will be twice a week based on many requests from parents.
Schedule:
Teacher Lin’s Nook gatherings will happen on Mondays from 10.00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If there are requests, an additional Nook might be added at a later time in the day.

Arrival Details
- Parents and children will arrive at 10:00 a.m., gathering in the front garden with its white picket fence for a safe and calm environment.
- Teacher Lin will greet and guide families through a light transition into her serene garden classroom.
Note: This Private Nook offering is exclusively available for Parents' Nook families. There will be no overlap with private students enrolled, ensuring the Parents' Nook format remains distinct and focused.
About the Environment
Teacher Lin’s indoor and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed to be calm, safe, and completely dedicated to supporting young children and their families.
Trial Option: Meet and Greet
Families can try a single Nook before committing to 4 weeks.
Program Details
- Ages: 18 months to 6 years.
- Cost: $200 per month for one day per week, with a minimum commitment of 4 weeks.
- Meals: Includes an organic vegetarian lunch with seasonal fruit and water.
- Gear: Outdoor gear is provided for each child. Parents are encouraged to assist with gear as needed.
Parent Participation
Parents are welcome to:
- Help their child settle into play at their own pace.
- Socialize, work, or enjoy quiet time nearby. A modest workspace is available near the play area for quick check-ins with your child if needed. (Note: There is no Wi-Fi, so parents must use mobile data.)
Children’s Play
The play at Teacher Lin's Nook is deeply inspired by Waldorf and RIE principles, fostering creativity, independence, and a strong connection to nature:
- Exploring the garden, sandpit, and plants.
- Painting, digging, and playing with child-sized tools.
- Watering plants and washing sand kitchen items.
- Engaging in child-directed play with support from Teacher Lin.
- Singing songs and participating in small group activities.
- Bringing home a small harvest offering at the end of each session.
Closing Transition
At 12:20 p.m., parents will assist with removing garden gear and transitioning children safely back to the front garden for pick-up.
Additional Notes
- This program is exclusively for Parents' Nook families. There will be no overlap with private students, ensuring the Nook format remains distinct.
- Parents are encouraged to share dietary details, along with their child’s clothing and boot size, during the reservation process.
